T. Baxter Dunn, ex-sheriff for San Joaquin County, was arrested this week after colliding with another vehicle and failing a sobriety test. Dunn resigned as sheriff during a public corruption scandal two years ago.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Dunn was driving his Chrysler sedan on Highway 120 Thursday night when he rear-ended a truck at about 70 mph. The driver of the truck sustained several injuries as a result of the collision. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
