Tennessee Football Player Suspended, Loses Scholarship over DUI Charges

Britton Colquitt, a punter for the Tennessee Volunteers, was suspended for 5 games and lost his scholarship after he was arrested on alcohol-related charges Sunday morning. Colquitt, who had also been suspended as a freshman in 2004 because of alcohol-related charges, was arrested for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident after he struck a parked car and fled around 2 AM on Sunday.

Coach Phillip Fulmer confessed that he was “very disappointed” with Colquitt’s actions, and said that the punter would face additional internal consquences as a result.
