An 8-year-old boy was killed on his way to church by a drunk driver.  The child was sitting in the back seat of his family’s vehicle when a pick-up truck drifted from its lane and struck the car.  The boy was thrown from his seat into the center console, where he sustained severe injuries.  He was taken to the hospital for treatment, where he later died.

Rodney Aaron Martin, age 22, was charged with driving under the influence.  He was treated for injuries at the scene of the accident.   Only one other adult passenger was injured in the wreck.  Investigation into the collision is still in progress.
