Delaware - Motorists and party goers driving during the upcoming labor day weekend should be cautioned that State highway safety officials have scheduled three sobriety checkpoints and plan 214 DUI saturation patrols in Delaware beginning Friday, August 29 and running through Monday, Sept. 1.
The increase in patrol activity will supplement what wil already be a heightened police presence from state and municipal police agencies said the state Office of Highway Safety. In the past couple of weeks, roadways in Delaware has seen a deadly increase in accidents involving pedestrians and motorcyclists. Officials at the Office of Highway Safety hope that the additional patrols will prevent further loss of life.
